Conchita de Antuñano was educated at the Julliard School and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Her formal teaching experience began in Europe, where after working in conjunction with the Munich American School, she established her own opera studio, also in Munich, the study of the Italian Bel Canto technique. Ms. de Antuñano’s teaching work has been favorably recognized by the Munich Hochschule für Musik and by many of Munich’s influential coaches and musicians, notably conductor and mentor Guiseppe Patanè. Scores of talented young singers from Europe, Asia and America have been referred to Ms. de Antuñano’s studio, which is respected for its continuation of the Italian vocal traditions, in which Ms. de Antuñano was herself instructed during her work with the late Maestro Patanè. In New York she worked as a Private Voice Instructor of the renowned “Julliard School of Music” as well as an adjunct Professor of Fordham University. She is currently in Miami, where she is establishing her “Miami Vocal Arts Studio” and where she will continue sharing her knowledge of the Italian Bel Canto tradition and technique, which she learned from her teachers, the great sopranos Rosa Ponselle, Rose Bampton, mezzo-soprano Giulietta Simionato, and one of the greatest conductors of the twentieth century, the late Giuseppe Patanè. |
